Call Of Pripyat game suffers from frequent crashes to Desktop due to a few script errors & as usual we cant expect the Dev's to correct the issue.So here is a few fixes which has helped me.
1)Make sure you have a backup files of the file which is causing the crash.
2)If you encounter the bind_monster error or something delete the loop(consists of if cond etc),and then after you have crossed the area where the crash was imminent,then replace the original file back.
3)If you encounter smart_terrain 1127 some error,then reduce your graphic settings and try it out again.
P.S:Modifying your Source Files can be problematic.If you are unsure of how to do it ,I can help you out.Just Holla @ Me.

The process is automated and you just need to specify the location where the Setup files(Containing the Windows FIles) are stored and it will do the rest by itself.No more select Disk or clean or partition hassle.The entire process takes about 15 minutes so go and have your cup of coffee while the setup is being loaded.All you need to do for Installation is change your boot preferences in the Bios mode.The Created Image IS BOOTABLE.SO NO NEED TO ADD ANY BOOTMGR or associated files.Its automatically taken care of.Incase you have any issues on Installation or any other Issue feel free to Holla @ Me.I shall be Obliged to be of any service!!!!
If you have a pirated version of Call of pripyat,then its very unlikely that you will be able to install any updates.When you try to install the Update checks for the username and password entry in the Os registry and if it encounters null value it claims that the game is not installed.But in reality the update has figured out that yours is a pirated version.But not to worry!There is an alternative way of fooling the update by adding a few details in the registry.Just follow the steps below:
1)Create a notepad document and Open it.
2)Now copy the code pasted below into the notepad:

Call of Pripyat was the third expansion(GSC themselves have claimed it to be an expansion pack) where the story unfolds just after its predecessor Shadow of Chernobyl.Play as Alexander Degtyarev,a military major who is sent to investigate why Operation fairway failed: A massive military operation launched to reach the NCPP.Encounter the fanatics(Monolith) and face New unseen Mutants in the most stable N atmosphere compelling Stalker.Remember its not just Darkness you need to be afraid of.Don wanna go too much deep into the story line,but plz make sure you get a downloaded copy or a legitimate copy of the game.Now after playing the game i tried to use a couple of mods which include the much anticipated S.M.R.T.E.R v.041 and Atmosfear 1.3 mod both of them are just amazing.I was just wondering why couldn't the developers make such compelling atmosphere and a lot more arsenal.
But unfortunately the game is rigged to such a level that,any attempt to use any Mods is resulting in frequent crashes to desktop all it says is Xray Engine 1.6 has stopped working or Xcore.dll bug.A lot of fixes were released,but no avail,the frequency of the crash just quadrupled.I guess these developers intentionally packaged this game with bugs so that when trying to apply an patch,the patch wont work and people will be forced to get a legitimate copy of the game.But there were a couple of ways by which i was able to make the error fix which included modding the script files in the gamedata folder.So here's how you fix it:

Does your Pc shuts down automatically turning off your hard-disk?Well this is a major issue with your hardware.Bear in mind that generally viruses N trojans generally are not responsibe for turning off your system as claimed.These are hardware issues not software.Now there maybe a few reasons behind this;Lets take a detailed look and try to diagnose:
1)Touch the sides of your cabinet,is it heated up?is it very hot?If yes,then you probably need a heat sink or additional coolant fans else your risk overheating your GPU and Motherboard.
2)Open up the cabinet and look into the processor fan.If you can see dust and other junk in its rim,then use a vacuum blower to clean it out.Trust me!Plz clean your Processor atleast once in 2 weeks,else your system will be plagued bu this problem.
3)Now check your GPU for over heating.As a die hard gamer I used to engage in games hours together and i heated up my Gpu so much that the inbuilt GPU cooling fan got detached after its coil melted.I didnt realise this happened and so everytime I used to play any pc game my system used to shutdown in every 2 minutes and was driving me nuts!.So make sure you keep a fan on top of your Graphics card or plz implement a heat sink.
4)Upgrade your Ram.1 Gb ram is not capable of doing anything now a days.Try to go for either 4 or 6 Gb or atleast have a 3gb Ram as it really improves your performance.A heated up ram inflicts self damage on its electronic coating which damages the motherboard and your resale value might go down.Do not confuse the Blue Screen of Death with this!
5)Touch your Motherboard Mainchip and see if its hot.If yes,then you need a coolant fan here.This is not too dangerous compared to other issues,but its a potential threat.
6)Last but not the least,check your SMPS conenction wires.Any burned up,missing or loose contact can result in immediate restart or shutdown to prevent damage to your system.
These problems are very detrimental to a gamer and so must be taken care to ensure optimum and hassle free gaming experience.Incase you don wanna spend money from your pocket to implement a heat sink,open up your old abandoned Cpu cabinet take out the coolant fans and place them inside your current CPU.Keep your Pc in a cool place and keep it away from dust N heat.Watch out for More Updates
