If you have a pirated version of Call of pripyat,then its very unlikely that you will be able to install any updates.When you try to install the Update checks for the username and password entry in the Os registry and if it encounters null value it claims that the game is not installed.But in reality the update has figured out that yours is a pirated version.But not to worry!There is an alternative way of fooling the update by adding a few details in the registry.Just follow the steps below:
1)Create a notepad document and Open it.
2)Now copy the code pasted below into the notepad:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GSC Game World\STALKER-COP]
"InstallPath"="L:\\gamedir\\S.T.A.L.K.E.R."
"InstallLang"="ru"
"InstallSource"="stkcop-ad-rus-pack-r"
"InstallVers"="1.6.00"
"InstallCDKEY"=""
"InstallUserName"=""
"UnInstConfirm"="Удалить сохраненные игры и профили?"
"InstallPatchID"=dword:00002eda
Now here the Installpath refers to the installation directory.You need to change it to the place where your stalker main directory lies.
3)Now rename the file from .txt to .reg and double click it.
Now try to install the update and it will work!Keep in mind that this is currently working on the 64 bit Os only.I'll be back with the 32 bit version soon.Till then your patience is appreciated.Happy gaming!!!
There is application Digeus I use it when there are problems with operational system. I also recommend Windows Tune Up Suite form Windsty. It is the smartest way to solve computer problems.
