Emule is a brilliant P2p program.We know that its based on file sharing and sometimes the file you are downloading might be invalid.This happens when people have downloaded porn into their Pc and don't want their family to find out about it,thus renaming the file and unfortunately sometimes we might download them and get fooled.This happened to me on a lot of occasions.The worst scenario was when I tried to download Resident Evil Afterlife,all I got after completion was some crappy porn video of Viv Thomas.So you will be wondering if there is any way to verify what you are downloading.Hmmmm....Yes there are a couple of ways.
- First after you double click on the file to download,wait for the transfer bar to turn blue from red(this indicates that file source is available).Then right click and select Details and Then check whether in the Name tab,the file name resembles what you are downloading.If there are terms like xxx or xx or latina etc then probably its a porn and its not worth download unless you wana watch porn ;).
- Now this method depends on whether Emule has verified your file Type.To check this right click your download and select Details and now in the General Tab check the Type:(6th Detail)and also make note of the 2nd detail Part.met file number(One at the end,after Temp/).If Type Value is showing verified,then you need to download a software called DivFix(We need to rebuild the Index for the incomplete files).You can get it from here.I do hope that you also have Vlc player Installed,Incase you don't have,get it here.Now go to your Emule Installed Directory>>Temp>>And look for the part associated with the file.Make a Copy it and paste it somewhere outside the temp directory.Now rename the copied one as file.avi.Now run Div Fix and navigate to your file and click on Rebuild Index.It might take a few minutes and Div Fix will generate a file based on the bits and pieces and you can verify whether its the integrity of your download.If its not what you are looking for,then your are duped.So for someother download.
- Generally if you can see green exclamation mark near your download in Emule transfer menu,then it means its verified,yellow for probably acceptable one and Red means its either Invalid or not working and its better to check the method I prescribed in method 2.
